Environmental and health issues like climate change, and social issues like inequality, have been around for quite a while. And despite a lot of people working on solutions, they're still major issues. Instead of treating everything as a separate issue. investigative journalist Fons Burger shows how they're actually all interconnected, and that the way to solve them is together - fixing one problem while ignoring others often makes other issues worse or creates whole new issues. This book looks at ways to get back at the roots so that human well-being and ecological balance reinforce each other.
I liked this book. My family and I already do what we can in small ways to improve our communities, but have often wondered if there weren't larger things that could be done. This book is hopeful and optimistic, written with the attitude that we have all the abilities and skills we need to solve big problems - we just need to take a holistic approach.
